After being approached by a number of residents whose businesses were being affected by queuing traffic, Cllr Lesley Thurland took on board the problem. Following numerous emails, photos and conversations, along with a visit County Cllr Jason Smithers and council representatives, she is pleased to announce an extra opening day to help ease the congestion starting from Monday 29th March.
We are pleased to have been able to deliver this extra opening for the benefit of anyone needing to use the Household Recycling Centre. We believe this extra opening will help to alleviate queueing at peak times and it will help to further promote recycling and combat fly-tipping.
The Monday openings will initially be for a 3-month trial period but we will push for it to be extended if it proves to be a success and meets the needs of local residents.
